New Website!

This is a shout-out to everyone who visits my blog. Please check my new photography website at I've already started a gallery of my recent trip to Colorado and plan to add lots more soon. Enjoy!

I just got back from Colorado a few hours ago and couldn't wait to start going through some photos. This was one in particular of Pikes Peak that really stood out. I took several hundred photos over a period of five days, so expect to see quite a few more soon as I have time to process them all.

Enjoy this one for now.

Here is a recent photo of another one of my kittens. I thought it was cute enough to pst, so here it is.

I'm headed to Colorado tomorrow for a long weekend, so expect a lot of new photos from my trip sometime next week.

I'm not sure if this qualifies as art or not. It was originally a photo, but I played around with it for a while in Photoshop and came up with this neat effect. I liked the composition of the original image, but the colors were prertty dark and muddy. The background of the photo was a lake at the NC Zoo.

Anyway, I liked this well enough to post it on my blog, so there ya go.

The second image is the original photo that I thought would make an interesting comparison.

My youngest sister loves dragonflys, so I took this one for her. Dragonflys are super hard to take good photos of because they are very fast and don't like to sit still for very long. I think this one turned out pretty well considering I don't really have the right lense for these sort of photos. Enjoy!

This was also taken at the zoo. I kinda liked this shot, but might have over-processed it a bit. I'm not too sure about the border.

I'm also posting a shot of a zebra that I liked as well.

I thought I would post a "before and after" picture to show a bit of what goes into my post-processing of a photograph. All of the processing is done in Photoshop. It has so many good tools available that it would be stupid to not use it.

Every photo is shot in the RAW file type. I do the normal RAW conversion, then convert to LAB color, play with the colors a bit, apply some sharpening, maybe do a border, put on my name or logo and its done. Pretty simple huh?

I think the results speak for themselves.

One last post before I get too sleepy. This one is Mr. Lion's sweetheart giving me the evil eye...thank God for safety walls/nets/barricades/anything else between me and her.

Here are three more zoo pictures that I decided to post real fast. Enjoy!

I've got a ton of new pics to post, but only time for one right now. I went to the NC Zoo today with my new lense and took about 250 photos of various wildlife. I was especially impressed with this photo because it was taken through dirty glass! It's amazing, you cant even see the glass in the photo. I took it at an angle to cut down on reflections. After playing with it in Photoshop, here is the final result.

This is a meerkat by the way (yay for the real Timon!).
